The Winter Music Conference is arriving in Miami Beach.

I am not sure yet if I’ll go in March but I went twice in a row, last year and the year before. Both times were amazing because of the the stellar DJs I went to see spin and my company of good friends. We stayed at a Hotel right on Ocean Drive the first time and at the Gansevoort Hotel in Collins the second time.

The highlights for me are the DJs who converge in Miami for this event. Dancing to their sets is what we go for since we are electronic dance music enthusiasts. To my knowledge, there is not one event where they come out in full force.

For events, it depends on what you’re looking for. There are tons of parties/events and you can party nonstop until you drop or you can just pick and choose which ones are worth your time and money. Your enjoyment really depends on activities you like. The beach is very accessible. There are pool parties during the day and many types of music genres are represented at parties after dark.

If you like to dance to house music like I do, you already know by now where your favorite DJs will be playing since most of them have already listed their events on their MySpace pages.

Here are my suggestions for house/progressive house/tech house enthusiasts:

Wednesday, March 24:

Like Alexander, I think the Pool party @ Shelborne has the best DJ lineup:

Way Out West (Nick Warren & Jody Wisternoff), Joris Voorn (Netherlands), Nic Fanciulli (UK), James Zabiela (UK), Desyn Masiello (UK), Steve Lawler (UK), Sharam (US), Pryda aka Cirez D & Eric Prydz (Sweden), etc.

Shine and The Shelbourne

Thursday March 25th:

Hernan Cattaneo (Argentina), Darren Emerson (UK), DJ T(Germany)
Lounge: Anthony Pappa (UK)

Friday 26th March:

Nick Warren (UK) & Dave Seaman(UK)
Stel (Greece)
& in the Lounge:
D Ramirez (UK)
Jody Wisternoff UK)
Thomas Sagstad (Norway)
etc.

Saturday, March 27:

Sasha (UK) and Charlie May (UK)
& in the Lounge:
Timo Maas (Germany)
Alex Dolby (Italy)
etc.

Usually, John Digweed (UK) hosts a Saturday night gig at The Vagabond downtown. He features very talented DJs prior to his own set. The year before was Argentina’s Hernan Cattaneo. Last year, Guy J from Tel Aviv. Both sets were insanely good. He will have his gig there this time for sure. It has gone on until 5 am in the past.

The Delano is a good choice but next door, The National is where the Beatport pool parties happen everyday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. so you can’t have quiet periods during those hours. We suggest also to take a look to the Hotels located in Downtown Miami. Most of the concerts are in this area.

Hotels in South Beach Miami.
