For Art Basel you should try to stay at The Sagamore Hotels on South Beach if your really into Art, the hotel is beautiful and a true gem but the owners are some of the biggest art collectors in Miami and the place is always great, also a cool local scene as well on the weekends and a fun restaurant downstairs.
The Ritz Hotel in SOBE is also nice on the beach….
The best hotels are probably sold out because of Art Basel, if you are lucky and find rooms then we would suggest:
Shaun as well and Fontainbleau is good.
If the beach is very full, there is always the Viceroy on Brickell.
Delano Hotels is real good too.
During the Art Basel in Miami, there are a lot of cocktails and parties in the Design District!
Art works everywhere in Miami Beach!
So, try to find a room in South Beach and move without car!
Best Restaurants we suggest in this period:
Nobu at Shore Club, Casa Tua (Best Italian Ever), Blue Door, and Touch.
All are with walking distance in South Beach Art Decò District.
A great place (and one of the most popular in Miami Beach) to go for dinner is Prime 112.
It’s a steak house that’s always packed with people and has a great vibe.
But make sure to reserve in advance. It’s always full.
We advice that sometime even with reservations you´ll have to wait a lot,
Also Rose Bar at Delano is always a scene.
Make sure not to miss Joe’s Stone Crabs, it’s a really institution in South Beach, then the Pool Deck Bar at the Standard Hotel is the place to hang out weekends for lunch …..also the Setai Hotel Bar.
Il Gabbiano is the latest and one of the best Italian Restaurant but is in Downtown Miami. .
Also vey nice is the Gramercy Tavern at the Fontainebleau Hotel, the Bar at the Fontainebleau, The Bar at the Setai.
If you are in Miami christmas, don’t miss the bruch at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
You need to make reservations now, is one of the best.
For nightlife depending on what you like, our favorites are Mokai Thursday nights (House Music), Mynt is good on Fridays and you should check out the local party Sundance at Set on Sundays.
For the New Year 2010 week we suggest parties in:
W Hotel – Wet
The W is very cool. We was there last week, but it was soooo windy that the entire outdoor bar was empty and there was actually a chop forming on the pool. No matter- still fun.
The Shore Club (Shore Hotel)
Fontainebleau Poolside by far.
One of the best thing for that “night” is simply walking in Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue. A lots of person are there. Be carefully with your girl. Walk hand by hands. It’s very full of persons. The traffic is closed from 6pm in Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue, so everyone walk in the middle of street. Usually all Hotels in Ocean and Collins in the lounge area offer drinks, champagne (you need to pay extra), music and dance.
If you arrive in Miami the last day of the week and your hotel is in the middle of Ocean and Collins, try to arrive before 5pm or you will have to bring with you all baggages.
During the week in these months, the most important Night Clubs are:
Mansion ask for Hugo
Set, Ask for Cedric
Mynt As for Oliver Jay
W Hotel Wall ask for Laurent
Liv, ask for Stephane. (be carefully here)
Nikki Beach, Ask for Jason
Tantra, ask for Sinisha
That’s all for today!
